The blossom bat is a common Asian species. It is one of the mega bats and feeds on flower pollen, featuring a long muzzle (and tongue) and distinct ribs, as compared with the fused rib cage of micro bats. This is an excellent specimen for a teaching aid. Australian native vertebrates are protected and not legal to keep as pets or specimens, except, of course, fish. These skeletons are acquired from Indonesia. Regulations are quite tight in most countries including Indonesia and only common species are permitted to be traded.
